Preventing Heart Problems
You can learn you risk for heart disease with a calculator
When the legendary Framingham Heart Study first began, the goal was to figure out who is most likely to have a heart attack. They learned that it is surprisingly easy to say who is at risk by plugging in a few critical numbers into an interactive calculator. Risk factors such as your age, gender, cholesterol, blood pressure, current medications and whether or not you smoke can help you figure out your chances of having or dying from a heart attack are over the next ten years. People at high and moderate risk may need to focus on certain treatments and other strategies to lower risk.
